A Lamont 13 gang member has been convicted of first-degree murder and five other felonies for killing a man and wounding another outside a bakery on Main Street near Di Giorgio Road.

Prosecutors say Jose Garcia, Jr. shot Rodolfo Garcia and hit Joel Mendiola in the jaw last year in retaliation for the murder of a fellow gang member. Sentencing is in October.
