Some local farmers hurt by President Trump’s recent tariffs, and the retaliatory ones by foreign countries, can now apply for federal assistance.
The US Department of Ag is directly paying cotton, corn, dairy, pork, soybean, sorghum and wheat farmers while the government will buy some specialty crops.
