A Los Angeles gang member has pleaded no contest to attempted murder for a botched armed robbery at an east Bakersfield pot shop. Robert Williams was wounded in a shootout with a security guard last year at the Peace and Medicine Marijuana Dispensary on Niles Street and Locust Ravine. Co-defendant Marvell Carruthers pleaded no contest to assault with a firearm.
