Kern County Fire has sent a helicopter to the 93-square mile Delta Fire in northern California to help firefighters complete difficult missions. Crews have been doing reconnaissance, as well as taking paramedics to stranded firefighters in remote locations because it’s one of the few that can fly at night.

The retired military chopper has also been helping out on smaller fires in and around Redding.
