The State Department of Corrections wants the District Attorney’s Office to file homicide charges against the inmates who left a Kern Valley Prison guard with grave injuries. 56-year-old Armando Gallegos died last week, he’d been hospitalized since he and another guard were attacked by a dozen prisoners in April. The other guard suffered cuts to his hands and face.
