A Shafter man accused of shooting at Sheriff’s SWAT officers has been ordered by a judge to get mental health treatment.

Deputies say 56-year-old John Wells barricaded himself inside a house on Atlantic Avenue in March as they investigated a theft, and stayed there for several hours despite being shot in the chest.
