PROBATION FOR CHILD PORN

Former Cal State Bakersfield assistant professor Theodore Ishida, who pleaded no contest to possessing child porn, has been sentenced to three years probation and will have to register as a sex offender for life. Police found hundreds of images on his computer in December after Ishida reported a burglar was blackmailing him.

Francois Gariepy was sentenced to five years four months in prison last month after pleading no contest to second-degree burglary and possessing a stolen vehicle.
