Kern County Sheriff’s deputies were on campus at North High School in Oildale all day Wednesday as a precaution after some people threatened to shoot up the school.

The group drove up in a pickup truck as students were getting out of band practice last Tuesday night and yelled obscenities before making the threat, which the Kern High School District says was “not substantiated”.
