A fire has completely destroyed a mobile home behind a vacant southeast Bakersfield house, but firefighters are not sure what started it.

Bakersfield Fire Captain Evan Gardner says neighbors reported the fire around 12:45 Friday afternoon at the property on South M Street south of Ming Avenue, and they were able to knock it down quickly and keep it from spreading to the home.

Arson investigators don’t know if it’s connected to another house fire a few hours earlier on Sunshine Avenue.
