A Bakersfield woman has launched the “Route 91 Survivors” Facebook group to help thousands of people who continue to struggle after last year’s shooting in Las Vegas.

Janie Scott was 15 feet from the stage when the gunman opened fire and says many people are dealing with post traumatic stress disorder. Scott says the group has linked people with therapists, offered a sounding board for those who don’t have mental health services nearby, or just need someone to talk to at 2:00 in the morning.

Five people from Kern County died at the country music festival with several others wounded.
