The deadline for Kern County residents to register to vote in the November election is fast approaching.

Assistant County Clerk Karen Rhea says you can sign up by mail until October 22nd or by visiting their downtown Bakersfield office, but online registration is becoming more popular because of cell phones. Here’s a link to the online registration form: https://registertovote.ca.gov/

Rhea is encouraging people to get to the polls because some local races have been decided by just a few votes in recent elections.
