TASTRIES SUED AGAIN OVER CAKE

The owner of Tastries bakery in Bakersfield is being sued again by the state because she didn’t make a custom wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

Cathy Miller won the first lawsuit in February when a judge ruled that making the cake would violate her free speech rights, and Miller’s attorney Charles LiMandri thinks the other side doesn’t have a case because no new evidence has been uncovered.

The Department of Fair Employment and Housing also wants Miller to pay damages to the couple and conduct anti-discrimination training.
