Kern County has several new representatives in Sacramento. Former Bakersfield Assemblywoman Shannon Grove has been sworn in as State Senator as Jean Fuller terms out, and Democrat Melissa Hurtado is replacing incumbent State Senator Andy Vidak, a Republican.Rudy Salas returns for his fourth term in the Assembly while Vince Fong starts his second term. Meanwhile, Democrat TJ Cox is not waiting for a final count in his bid for Congress. He was in Washington Monday for activities there after declaring himself the winner over incumbent Republican David Valadao last week. Cox was leading Valadao by 842 votes as of today.
