Bakersfield Police say a man who was so drunk he had to be taken to Kern Medical is in critical condition after jumping from moving patrol car on the freeway. BPD says the suspect showed up Saturday afternoon in their lobby downtown, then kicked out the back window of the car before the officer could pull over on Hwy. 178 at Beale Avenue. The road was closed for hours as a result.
