Bakersfield Police say they made 14 arrests for drunk or drugged driving during their Maximum Enforcement Period over Christmas. BPD also reports seven collisions related to DUI where two people were hurt but no fatalities. There were fewer DUI arrests this year by the Bakersfield Highway Patrol from Friday night until midnight on Christmas, but two fatal crashes are being investigated. There were 60 arrests in 2018, last year there were 72 arrests of impaired drivers and one fatal accident.
