A 38-year-old Bakersfield man is facing charges ranging from assault on an officer to being in a gang after a ShotSpotter activation on New Year’s Eve. The sensor recorded 25 shots fired at 9:40 Monday night on Monterey Street, and BPD says the suspect even pointed the gun at officers during a foot chase. The pistol they recovered had been stolen.
