REWARD FOR POST OFFICE BREAK INS

A $10-thousand reward has been posted for the arrest and conviction of whoever is behind a dozen break-ins and thefts at Kern County and other post offices this month. Jeff Hicks with the Postal Inspector’s Office tells KGET TV the culprits committed a federal offense, and law enforcement is reviewing surveillance video. “In those cases, potential penalty of up to five years in prison, and up to a $250-thousand fine.” Tulare, Fresno and Kings counties have also hit and some mail was taken, and two Kern County post offices had break ins on Christmas Day. Thanks to KGET TV for that audio.
