FIRST SNOW PACK SURVEY

The Department of Water Resources says their first survey of the year shows the snow pack 80-percent of average and water content is below where it should be. The Phillips Station measurement Thursday recorded 25.5-inches of snow in South Lake Tahoe, while the average snow pack for the state is 67-percent. The measurements that are taken through spring indicate the amount of runoff for drinking and other water uses in the summer.
