FLU SEASON IN FULL SWING

Kern County Public Health Services says it’s not too late to get a flu shot, as cases in the US rise. Spokeswoman Michelle Corson says young children, the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions are at the highest risk, with nine people already hospitalized this year for severe symptoms and two deaths. “[Cases] do, however, strike  young, seemingly healthy individuals as well. The flu is unpredictable and the season is unpredictable.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the flu is widespread in 30 states, the county offers $9 flu vaccines Monday through Friday.
