Attorney General: No Charges In Clark Shooting

(Sacramento, CA) — Attorney General Xavier Becerra says no criminal charges will be filed in the officer-involved shooting death of Stephon Clark. Becerra’s announcement comes three days after Sacramento County DA Anne Marie Schubert’s investigation reached the same conclusion. He says they did not review the DA’s investigation before releasing their results. Becerra says Clark did not follow officers’ orders to show his hands when he was gunned down. He also had something in his hand which appeared to be a gun, but it turned out to be a cell phone. He also advanced towards officers and ignored their commands to stop.
