Court documents show the man who was hospitalized when he jumped out of a Bakersfield police car on the freeway was 33-year-old Eduardo Barrera Martinez. He was being taken to Kern Medical December 22nd after showing up at BPD headquarters, saying he’d smoked spice and was going to die. He kicked out the cruiser’s back window.
