(Gorman, CA) — Heavy fog is being blamed for yesterday’s chain reaction multi-vehicle crash on I-5 near Gorman. The pile-up was first reported at 2:45 p.m. on the 5 southbound near Gorman School Road. Teresa Diaz was driving from Bakersfield to Los Angeles for a birthday party when her vehicle got caught up in the collisions. CHP officers say the crash involved up to 60 vehicles and left 35 people injured, including an infant who’s listed in critical condition. The freeway was closed for nearly four hours while Highway Patrol officers cleared the collisions.
