Judge Halts Expanded Release of Police Records

A Bakersfield judge says he’s issuing a temporary order that stops the expanded release of police records. This stems from a new law that sought to make some police records which were confidential, public. Several parties sued to stop the release, and a Kern County judge granted the stay this morning. It lasts until May when, the judge says a more thorough hearing can be held.
