A 33-year-old man is in the Bakersfield jail for an early morning shooting that killed another man in central Bakersfield. Police Sgt. Nathan McCauley says a woman who suffered a minor gunshot wound called for help at 1:21am Monday from the Fastrip on 34th and Q streets, which eventually led them to 47-year-old Marquis Candler. “After his interview, he was arrested murder, assault with a deadly and several over firearm related charges.” The confrontation happened in an apartment on 33rd street.
