BBB WARNS OF ONLINE JOB APPLICATIONS

The Better Business Bureau is warning job seekers to avoid third-party Internet sites when applying for a position. Spokesman Clayton Alexander says the scammers often pretend to be a big company. “You bring up Amazon, Apple and other companies as an example, because it’s such a large corporation that you could believe they were hiring people en mass.” The BBB Risk Report found the scam is impacting people across all age and skill levels, Alexander says to avoid posting personal information on links that do not directly connect to the company that’s hiring.
