CHP Plans DUI Checkpoint Saturday

Heads up if you’re partying this weekend and taking your car. The CHP says they’ll conduct a DUI Checkpoint Saturday somewhere within unincorporated Kern County between 6pm and 2am. The Highway Patrol wants to get the word out because they say publicizing the checkpoint deters drivers from getting behind the wheel after drinking. Last year, the CHP made over 60-thousand arrests for DUI statewide, which is a 4-percent increase.
