Bakersfield Police are bringing back the motorcycle officer patrols, which were shutdown two years ago for safety concerns. Sgt. Nathan McCauley hopes their presence will keep people mindful of the rules of the road… “But if they slow down and driver safer because they’re worried about getting a ticket, it still gets the desired results that we have safer streets and people are driving better and being more miindful of each other.” The officers will be riding 2019 Police Edition Harley’s, which will be deployed in circumstances where they will be more useful than a squad car. They will also be deployed in pairs when possible to increase their visibility.
