Dozens of Farmworkers Treated for Pesticide Exposure

DINUBA, Calif. (AP) – Authorities say some 60 farmworkers have been treated for possible exposure to toxic chemicals at a California Central Valley vineyard.

Authorities say the vineyard workers may have been exposed Tuesday to pesticides that were being sprayed in a neighboring peach orchard west of Dinuba in Tulare County. The workers complained of smelling the chemicals.

Dozens were rinsed off by hazardous materials teams and three who complained of nausea, vomiting and other symptoms were treated at a hospital.
