Bakersfield Police Statement on the missing SUV registered to the City of McFarland and it’s connection to the John Wooner case

BPD Release:

On July 28, 2019, the California Highway Patrol located the Dodge Durango related to John Wooner’s disappearance. The vehicle was submerged in the Kern River, and the body of an unidentified person was located inside the vehicle. The identity of the decedent will be released pending positive identification by the Kern County Coroner’s Office. The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation related to locating the vehicle and will be coordinating with the ongoing Bakersfield Police Department missing person investigation.
