KCSO: Woman Tampered with Officer’s Food

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) – A California woman who lost a police excessive force lawsuit was arrested on suspicion of tampering with an officer’s food at a McDonald’s restaurant.

21-year-old Tatyana Hargrove was arrested Friday after the restaurant provided video to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

A Bakersfield Police Department spokesman confirmed the food was served to one of its officers.

Hargrove sued the Bakersfield police in 2017 after two officers mistook her for a male suspect and she was bitten by a police dog.

Hargrove says she was thrown to the ground and punched in the face, while the officers say the encounter was less confrontational than Hargrove described.

The Bakersfield police chief apologized, but a jury found in a favor of the city and the officers.
