Tehachapi Homcide Linked to Lethal Force Encounter on I-15 in Primm

BAKER, Calif. (AP) – NEW: The victim in the homicide has been identified as 55-yar-old Guadalupe Adams The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department tweeted Wednesday night that investigators were en route to a “lethal force encounter” and that information would be released when they have confirmed details of the incident. The northbound lanes remain closed Thursday morning. I-15 is the main route for travel between Southern California cities and Las Vegas.

On January 8, 2020, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Kern County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 21-800 block of Quail Springs Road in the Tehachapi area to check the welfare of a resident.
When deputies arrived, they located a deceased 55-year-old female with traumatic injuries.
Homicide detectives responded and assumed the investigation.

A vehicle and person of interest were identified early in the investigation and the information was shared with nearby agencies. At approximately 6:30 p.m., California Highway Patrol located the vehicle on Interstate 15, near Primm, close to the Nevada border.

Law enforcement agencies initiated an investigative traffic stop, at which time an officer involved shooting occurred. For further details, refer to the California Highway Patrol and/or San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office.

At this time, the identity of the victim in Tehachapi and the man near Primm are being withheld pending coroner notification.
