LOS ANGELES (AP) – In the summertime, the living won’t be so easy in California. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s plan for easing coronavirus restrictions won’t allow the usual pastimes that roll in with warmer weather. Professional sports are on hold, most beaches and popular hiking trails are closed, countless events are canceled and businesses are shuttered. Without a timeline for when life will return to normal, Newsom dimmed hopes for many who looked forward to a more typical summer after spending a month largely indoors and away from friends, coworkers and others. Any broad reopening would depend on a vaccine that could be more than a year away.
