The Bakersfield City School District Board voted to delay the start of school last night
In a 5-0 vote, the board agreed to start the school year on Monday, August 24th, instead of August 17th. The reason, the BCSD Superintendent said there was an issue with their internet provider, in getting enough internet hotspots for all the students in their district who needed them.
In an Emergency Board Meeting, the BCSD Board of Education voted to move the start of school to August 24, 2020. Thank you for your support and understanding. We will release additional information regarding hotspot distribution and virtual orientation in the coming days. pic.twitter.com/NljJOQy63D
