Riverside County Drops State Coronavirus System

(Riverside, CA) — It’s official, Riverside County is ditching California’s tiered coronavirus reopening system in favor of its own self-directed plan. The county Board of Supervisors came to the decision via a four-to-one vote on Tuesday, despite putting more than 100-million-dollars in state funding at risk. County officials say they’ll still work with the California Department of Public Health when creating the criteria for reopening under the new system. Cities are still allowed to enforce their own set of guidelines, and businesses must keep following certain state-issued health protocols to be in compliance.
