Kern Secret Witness is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the murder investigation of 12-year-old Ahmaya Alexander.
Alexander was senselessly killed in the 1000 block of L Street on May 21, 2021. The Bakersfield Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for this tragedy.
Bakersfield Police Sgt. Robert Pair says a lot of time in these cases witnesses have information but won’t come forward until money is made available.

On May 21, 2021, at about 10:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of L Street for a victim of a shooting. At the same time officers were notified of a ShotSpotter alert at the same location. Officers arrived to find an adolescent female juvenile suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The identity of the victim will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
