The Bakersfield Police Department are searching for the suspect involved in a fatal east Bakersfield shooting Thursday night. On August 12, 2021, at about 9:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Oregon Street regarding a victim of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Bakersfield Police Department Homicide Detectives responded and assumed the investigation. The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim at a later time.
