Bakersfield Man Hit and Killed by Vehicle

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision involving a pedestrian Saturday night.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Alonso Delarosa of Bakersfield. According the BPD, Delarosa was walking in the #1 lane before he was hit. It’s unclear at this time if he was crossing the road or walking along in traffic lanes.

On November 13, 2021, at 6:14 PM, Bakersfield Police Officers responded to the 4200 block of Auburn Street for a vehicle versus a pedestrian. Officers discovered an adult male had been struck and was down in the roadway. Medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The adult female driver is cooperating with investigators. Alcohol, drugs, or speed do not appear to be a factor. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Kern County Coroner.
