The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision involving a juvenile in west Bakersfield.The full release is below:

On November 16, 2021, at 11:26 am, Bakersfield Police Officers were dispatched to Ming Ave and Calle Salida regarding a traffic collision. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that the collision involved a single vehicle which collided with a brick wall. The driver of the vehicle was determined to be a 17–year–old juvenile. The juvenile was suffering from major injuries. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital. The juvenile later succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital.

This collision was the 44th fatal traffic collision that the Bakersfield Police Department has investigated in 2021.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s office.

The investigation is ongoing.
