A man and woman are in custody after an employee at Studio Movie Grill is west Bakersfield was assaulted Sunday night.

On 01/16/22 at about 2124 hours, Officers responded to the Studio Movie Grill, located at 2733 Calloway Drive, for a report of a fight involving a subject brandishing a firearm inside the business. Upon officer’s arrival, witnesses advised the suspect(s) fled in a white BMW and provided a partial license plate for the vehicle. A short time later, Officers located and stopped the white BMW near Truxtun Avenue and Bahamas Drive. The vehicle was occupied by EDUARDO REYES (29) and RAHMONA REYES (43). Officers located and seized a firearm during the traffic stop.
The investigation revealed that EDUARDO REYES and RAHMONA REYES allegedly assaulted several Studio Movie Grill employees during an argument over their bill. During the assault, a firearm was brandished by one of the suspects and an employee was also struck with the firearm. EDUARDO REYES was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a firearm, various firearms related charges and several outstanding felony warrants for his arrest. RAHMONA REYES was arrested for driving while under the influence and her involvement in the assault.
