KCSO Investigating Two Fatal Shootings 24 Hours Apart

Homicide detectives with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office say there is no suspect information in either of the fatal shootings that took place Monday and Tuesday this week.

The first homicide took place in Ridgecrest Monday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. when deputies were dispatched to Drummond Avenue and Strecker Street. Despite no victim, evidence of a shooting was located. Deputies learned the victim was taken by private means to a local hospital where he died.

The second shooting happened Tuesday morning around 6:00 when officers were dispatched to Steele Avenue and Mt. Vernon Avenue. An adult male victim was located suffering from a gunshot wound and died at the scene.

Homicide detectives are investigating both. Anyone with information is asked to call the KCSO.
