BPD Arrest a Man for Rape, Torture, and Mayhem in Central Bakersfield

Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department arrested a Fresno man Wednesday evening after a previous sexual assault offense.

On January 26th, at 6:49 PM, officers of the Bakersfield Police Department arrested Jason Rodriguez (36) of Bakersfield in the 3300 block of California Avenue. Rodriguez was sought in connection with a sexual assault offense which occurred on January 25th in the City of Bakersfield. Rodriguez, an early release AB 109 non-violent offender (for a prior conviction of resisting an officer with violence and gang member and felon in possession of a firearm) was taken into custody with no incident.

Rodriguez was placed under arrest for rape, torture, mayhem, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance while armed, kidnapping with intent to commit rape, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and several outstanding felony arrest warrants from other offenses.
