The Bakersfield Police Department has arrested a Bakersfield man for a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.

The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Reginald Anthony Johnson of Bakersfield.

On March 27th, at 1:02 AM, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Lotus Lane, regarding a possible shooting. Upon arrival an adult male victim suffering from gunshot injuries was located in the 1900 block of Lotus Lane. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical aid.

As a result of the investigation, Jermale Keeton (32) of Bakersfield was identified as the sole suspect in the murder and he was arrested in the 3200 block of Chester Avenue at 12:13 PM on March 27th with no incident.

The identity of the victim will be released at a later time by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
