A man was found dead in a Bakersfield apartment after a welfare check was conducted by police.

On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at approximately 1:40 P.M. the Bakersfield Police Department responded to an apartment in the 4700 block of Nordic Drive to check the welfare of an adult male resident. Upon arrival, officers noted suspicious circumstances and discovered the male resident deceased inside the apartment. The death is being investigated as a homicide. The identity of the victim will be released by the Kern County Coroner at a later time.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no suspect information for release at this time.
