Body Found in Burned Out Bakersfield Building

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating what happened to a deceased person that was found in a recently burned building.

According to BPD, a body was found inside a recently burned out building in southeast Bakersfield. Little information is known, including if the fire was the cause of death. The Bakersfield Police Department says they were called to the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard south of Potomac Avenue and located the deceased person Friday evening.

The decedent’s identity will be released at a later time by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
