Kern County Sheriff’s Office Employee Arrested by KCSO

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office has arrested one of their own related to narcotics possession.

On May 31, 2022, a Professional Standards and Narcotics Operations Unit investigation revealed Detentions Deputy Elizabeth Fernandez was at work at the Lerdo Jail Complex while in possession of suspected methamphetamine.  She was arrested for entering a jail facility in possession of narcotics and for being under the influence of a narcotic.  Fernandez, an employee of the Sheriff’s Office but was not working in an armed capacity at the time of her arrest.  She was booked at the Central Receiving Facility.  This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can provide it via telephone at (661) 861-3110 or the Secret Witness number at 322-4040.

According to Kern County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Lori Meza, Fernandez had been an employee with the KCSO for 21 years.
