Vehicle Wanted in Possible Child Abduction

The Bakersfield Police Department is looking for the community’s help in identifying a vehicle possibly involved in a child abduction.

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in a suspicious circumstances investigation. On June 21st, 2022, at about 1235 hours, a witness reported seeing a juvenile walking near the intersection of South Haley Street and Potomac Avenue when a vehicle stopped near her and an unknown description subject in the vehicle pulled the juvenile into the vehicle. The vehicle left eastbound on Potomac Avenue.

The juvenile was described as a: Hispanic female juvenile, approximately 5-6 years old, 4’ tall, 70 pounds, black shoulder-length hair, wearing a black shirt, green shorts, and a backpack.

The vehicle was described as a: Older model silver mini-van with dark tinted rear windows. NO LICENSE PLATE

The vehicle was possibly being operated by a Hispanic male. During the investigation, video was obtained of the vehicle depicted below being driven on Potomac Avenue at the approximate time of the incident.

A door-to-door canvass of the neighborhood was accomplished and no missing children were identified. A check of nearby schools was conducted and no children were identified as being unaccounted for.

Anyone with information regarding a missing juvenile matching the above description or knowledge of the facts, circumstances and whereabouts of the described vehicle is urged to immediately contact the
