A person is wanted by authorities after fleeing the scene of a crash that left one man dead. The California Highway Patrol were called to Roberts Lane near Belmont Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night for reports of a vehicle and pedestrian collision. They learned the victim was walking in traffic lanes when witnesses say he was struck by a pickup truck. The driver fled the scene westbound on Roberts Lane.

CHP Officer Robert Rodriguez says details beyond that are few so anyone with information is asked to contact Bakersfield CHP at 661-396-6600. Rodriguez adds speed, drugs, and alcohol are all unknown factors at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
