The safety of kids is a top priority for Bakersfield Police, who are running security again this year at the Kern County Fair. Lt. Rick Dossey says they have a booth near the main entrance where parents can get ID wrist bands for their kids, and the painted duck feet on the ground will lead lost little ones to safety.

Uniformed BPD and other officers will be highly visible on the fairgrounds at all times, and undercover officers, along with cameras and other technology are also deployed.
