man faces prison for assaulting pot delivery driver

A Bakersfield man faces up to thirteen years in prison after being convicted of assaulting a delivery driver with a bat.

Peter Ziehler was found guilty of assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism after he struck the driver who was delivering an order from a cannabis store at Ming Avenue and Stine Road in June 2020.

ZIehler demanded the driver empty his pockets, then stole merchandise from the van and vandalized it as well.

Sentencing is set for March 27.
