The Kern County Administrative building will be illuminated with blue lights in commemoration of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Lights on the building on Truxtun Avenue will remain blue throughout April to remind everyone of their role in safeguarding children and reporting suspected child abuse. This year’s theme is, “It Takes a Village: Understanding and Expanding the Concept of the “Village.”
On April 25, the Kern County Department of Human services will release a 2025 Child Memorial video to honor children lost to neglect and abuse.
Several Kern County churches will participate in Blue Sunday on April 27 on National Day of Prayer for victims of child abuse.
